Responsibilities
- •Search and find profitable loads on DAT Load Board
- •Contact freight brokers by phone and negotiate the best possible rates
- •Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers to secure consistent loads
- •Analyze market rates, lanes, RPM (revenue per mile), deadhead miles, and total trip profitability
- •Verify broker creditworthiness and payment terms before booking loads
- •Review rate confirmations for accuracy, including rates, pickup and delivery appointments, accessorial charges, and special requirements
- •Coordinate with drivers to confirm load details, pickup instructions, and delivery schedules
- •Handle delays, detention, layovers, TONU, cancellations, and other operational issues
- •Collect and verify BOLs, PODs, and other required documents after delivery
- •Monitor available trucks and plan reloads to minimize empty miles and downtime.
- •Meet daily and weekly targets for revenue, rate per mile, and truck utilization
- •Maintain professional and consistent communication with truck owners, owner-operators, and company drivers
Required Skills
Minimum 2 years of U.S. trucking dispatch experience working with street brokersAdvanced, hands-on experience with DAT Load BoardStrong phone communication and rate negotiation skillsProven ability to book loads independently without constant supervisionKnowledge of U.S. freight lanes, market rates, RPM, and deadhead calculationsExperience with dry van, reefer, or other relevant equipment typesAbility to verify broker credit and understand broker-carrier agreementsStrong English speaking and listening skills for calls with U.S. brokersAbility to manage multiple trucks and negotiate profitable reloadsExperience handling Amazon Relay is an additional requirement for this position

We are looking for an experienced truck dispatcher with a minimum of 2 years of U.S. trucking dispatch experience working with DAT Load Board and direct communication with street brokers. Experience with Amazon Relay is a plus.
